Welcome

Women and girls throughout the world face obstacles, discrimination, poverty, and violence simply because they are female. In many societies, being born female limits opportunities and presents insurmountable challenges. For many women and girls, sex discrimination is compounded by other forms of discrimination related to race, ethnicity, income level, age, migrant status, and other conditions.

"Without progress in the situation of women, there can be no true social development. Human rights are not worthy of the name if they exclude the female half of humanity. The struggle for women's equality is part of the struggle for a better world for all human beings, and all societies." - Boutros Boutros-Ghali, former United Nations

Grassroots organizations already exist throughout the world to improve the status of marginalized women, but they often struggle without sufficient skilled staff and leadership. Partners for Women's Equality (PWE) aids these organizations. PWE crafts partnerships that develop organizational capacity and support leadership development in organizations that empower marginalized women around the world.

Bridge to Change is a unique, skill-building program designed for Indigenous women working to end violence against Indigenous women.
