Bridge to Change Program Travel Coordinator

Program Description:

The Bridge to Change program is a year-long program of personal development for Native American and Aboriginal women (Bridge Partners) working on issues of violence in their communities. The 2010 program will involve women from Canada and the U.S. They are provided a series of in-depth training opportunities to expand their skills (three events) and develop a professional and supportive network during a year long program. Every participant is provided a personal coach (Bridge Builder) to encourage them in meeting their goals throughout the year through regular contact.

Location:

Office located in Eagan. Most work may be done offsite and/or virtually.

Time Commitment:

5-10 hours per week (minimum) for approximately one year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Book travel on various travel sites.
  • Assist in planning conferences and events.

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old and have access to transportation.
  • Have experience as a travel agent or booking travel on internet sites.
  • Have access to internet in your home.
  • Possess excellent written communications skills.
  • Have broad knowledge of internet and database skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment and meet goals in a timely manner.
  • Able to work well independently.
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to change.

Program Description:

  • Researching potential event sites.
  • Tracking and handling requests and needs of participants relative to food/housing.
  • Arranging local transportation and other needs of presenters/facilitators.
  • Commit to work during the months of March and April throughout duration of event.
  • Meet and collaborate with Bridge to Change work team 1-2 times a month.

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old and have access to transportation.
  • Experience in planning events or conferences.

  • Recruit participants for the Bridge to Change Program from aboriginal communities from the U.S. and Canada and communicate with them throughout their year in the program.
  • Promote the Bridge to Change program.
  • Meet and collaborate with Bridge to Change work team 1-2 times a month.
  • Develop promotional materials such as website pages, brochures and fliers.
  • Prepare communications to participants and press releases and articles for newsletters throughout the year.
  • Manage inquiries about the program.

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old and have access to transportation.
  • A minimum of 2 or more years experience in communications and marketing.
  • Excellent written and online communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and meet goals in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well independently, be flexible and adapt to change.
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment (preferred).

Public Relations and Development Volunteer

Location:

Work may be done offsite and/or virtually; office located in Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Minimum 4 hours per week

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Potential projects include web site enhancements, developing funding submissions, designing and producing materials, developing and implementing a PR / media campaign, marketing strategy development and implementation and database development.

We are currently seeking skilled and experienced professionals to assist us with a variety of exciting projects, with an emphasis on:

  • Marketing
  • Public Relations
  • Web design & content
  • Database design and implementation
  • Graphic Design

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and meet goals in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptation to change
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment (preferred)
