2011 was an exciting year here at Partners for Women's Equality. We celebrated the graduation of our first high school graduate, Purity Marek, in the Kenya Girlfriends program. Purity has found a job and is helping to support her family. She is also beginning to consider college, a goal that seemed completely out of reach just a few years ago.
We received a travel grant to fund three delegates from Pop No'j, our partner organization for Wisdom Exchange - Guatemala program, visited in August. This productive visit allowed us to discuss curriculum development and program logistics for our commmunity advocates program in person as well as giving us the opportunity to educate our volunteers on issues facing indigenous women in Guatemala.
